Afterschool

The Lower Lab Afterschool program is sponsored by the Lower Lab PTA and organized by parent volunteers with 2 semesters per year, exclusively for Lower Lab students. Classes are for a fee and all profits go directly towards the PTA. Class options vary by semester and may include: Chess, Robotics, Computer Science, Sports, Hip Hop Dance, Mad Science, Newspaper, and DramaZone. The offerings change by semester.

What’s Afterschool like when it’s in person?

When school is in person, there are 5–7 classes offered daily with coverage until 5pm on all full days of school.  On-site supervision is provided by a supervising teacher and teaching assistants.  Classes are taught by outside vendors and Lower Lab staff.

There is no after-school busing; therefore, parents or other adults, who are authorized by parents, must pick up students. Pick-up is from school or an off-site location and class schedules range from one hour to two hours a week depending on the type of class.
